Algiers, March 29, IRNA - Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salehi Amiri said that Iran and Algeria are able to take common steps in the Middle East and North Africa, maintaining cultural and Quranic cooperation.

Salehi Amiri made the remarks in a Tuesday meeting with Algerian Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Mohammad Aissa.

Amiri pointed to Iran’s aim as cementing ties with Algeria, saying that both countries have common enemies.

Raising the question where Taliban, Al-Qaeda and Boko Haram come from, he said that a Western imperialist news source is broadcasting unjust propaganda.

“We believe that Algeria is on the right track in fighting terrorism,” he added.

He noted that cultural and art relations between the two countries are strong, saying that Iran and Algeria have established good relations in sanitary, industrial, and agricultural fields.

“The issue between Iran and Saudi Arabia is first related to Saudi support of terrorists and then paving the way for Western countries to be in the region,” Salehi said.

Salehi-Amiri left Iran for Algeria and Tunisia on Monday to sign documents on cultural and art cooperation.
