Zarif slams US for keeping silent on Saudi 37 executions

New York, April 24, IRNA – Iranian foreign minister on Wednesday criticized US for keeping silent toward Saudi execution of 37 men, saying being a member of Bolton, Bin Salman, Bin Zayed and Netanyahu team gives immunity for atrocity crimes.

'After a wink at the dismembering of a journalist, not a whisper from the Trump administration when Saudi Arabia beheads 37 men in one day—even crucifying one two days after Easter,' Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote in his Twitter account on Wednesday.

He added 'Membership in the #B_team —Bolton, Bin Salman, Bin Zayed & 'Bibi'— gives immunity for any crime.'

Saudi Arabia Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that 37 Saudis were executed for the alleged link with terrorism.

The recent executions happened in Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, Al Qassim and Shia residential area Eastern Province.

As per 'Amnesty International' report, some 149 people have been executed in Saudi Arabia in 2018.

Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world which accomplish execution by beheading.

Users of social media in Saudi Arabia said that 32 Shia Muslims from Al Qatif and Eastern province were among those who were executed.

The Saudi government convicted a large number of the opposition of heavy punishment and execution to fight freedom of expression and under the pretext of combating terrorism.

Meanwhile, Khashoggi, the Saudi veteran writer and journalist entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2 to collect paperwork for his forthcoming marriage but disappeared there.

After 18 days of silence and rejecting claims that Khashoggi was killed, the Saudi government finally bowed down to international pressure on October 20th and claimed in a statement the prominent journalist was killed in a fist-fight inside Istanbul consulate.

All evidence suggests 15 Saudi agents with close ties to the crown prince Mohammed Bin Salman who were deployed to Istanbul are in charge of killing Khashoggi and dismembering his body.
