Iranian pianist ranks 1st in Azerbaijan contest

Baku, April 11, IRNA – Iranian young pianist Ramin Mahshidfar ranked first in the 8th International Contest of young performers (under 20) of classical music held in Baku.

The event was held with the attendance of classical musicians from Iran, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Bashkortostan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

The closing ceremony of the event was held with the attendance of Azeri officials, Iranian Cultural attaché in Baku Asghar Farsi and foreign countries’ diplomats.

The 8th International Contest of young performers (under 20) of classical music was organized by Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and Azerbaijan Culture Ministry.

According to the official website of the event, the competitions aimed at finding out young talents, exchanging international experience and ideas, identifying ways of creativity, creating a comprehensive idea about the Azerbaijani culture and art in youth and adults from foreign countries and improving of young talents’ level in music sphere in the framework of East - West Dialogue.
