Iran appointed as vice chairman of Islamic Development Bank

Tehran, April 9, IRNA – During the 44th annual meeting of the Islamic Development, Iran was adopted as vice chairman of the Islamic Development Bank.

The 44th annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank was held with the attendance of senior officials and economy ministers of the member states.

Iranian delegation headed by vice minister of economy for banking, insurance and governmental firms affairs attended the event.

During the meeting, chairman and vice chairman of the next round of the event which is slated to be held in Saudi Arabia were appointed.

Saudi Arabia has been appointed as chairman.

Iran and Pakistan were also adopted as vice chairmen.

The Islamic Development Bank is a multilateral development financing institution located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

It was founded in 1973 by the Finance Ministers at the first Organization of the Islamic Conference with the support of the king of Saudi Arabia at the time, and began its activities on 3 April1975.
