1 person injured in South Iran quake

Tehran, Feb 10, IRNA – Spokesman of Iran Emergency Services announced that the 5.2-magnitude quake which hit Laft district in southern Iranian island of Qeshm on Sunday injured one person.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday, Mojtaba Khaledi said the tremor occurred at 14:24 local time (10:54 GMT) at the depth of 10 km underground, according to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University.

In the wake of the accident, 5 assessing teams from the Emergency department were dispatched to the site, he added.

He went on to say that a 17-year-old girl was injured while escaping.
