Iran, Japan stress all-out development of ties

Beijing, Jan 18, IRNA – Iranian and Japanese foreign ministers on Friday underlined improvement of cooperation between their respective country.

In a message to the 90th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Japan, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif voiced hope for stronger Tehran-Tokyo cooperation in all fields.

In the meantime, Japan Foreign Minister Tarō Kōno in a separate message congratulated historical relations between Tehran and Tokyo.

He said that the Iran-Japan relation history is as old as that of the Silk Road, while lauding good diplomatic relations between the two countries since 1929.

Iran and Japan in a ceremony, held in Tokyo on Thursday, celebrated the 90th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two Asian countries.

Japan opened its embassy in Tehran in August 1929.
