Armenian communication with Muslim compatriots indisputable

Isfahan, Dec 30, IRNA - Chief of Armenian Catholic diocese of Isfahan and South of Iran said that the history of Armenian communication and peaceful life with their Muslim compatriots in Iran dates back to over 400 years ago and this connection is indestructible.

'The attention of the Iranian government and authorities in Iran to the Armenian Christians after the victory of the Islamic Revolution and the formation of the Islamic Republic of Iran are more than before,' said Varouj Minasian on Sunday evening on the eve of the New Year in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Referring to negative propaganda by anti-Iran groups in affiliated networks, he said, 'The Armenian community of Iran freely participate in their religious ceremonies and even the freedom of Iranian Christians to hold rituals and their celebrations are more than compatriots Muslims.'

Minasian said, 'Alien radio and television networks aiming to pressure the Islamic Republic are trying to convince their audience that the rights of religious minorities, including Christians in Iran, are not respected.
