Iran isolates US by preserving JCPOA: Expert

Moscow, Dec 19, IRNA- Chairman of the Iran Section in Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, praising Iran's policy of preserving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which led to isolation of the United States, stated that Russia and Iran are in a condition which both countries face unilateral US sanctions, so they should expand their cooperation in different areas.

Nina Mamedova said in a recent interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in Moscow on Wednesday that although US sanctions have a political dimension, it will also affect the economic relations between Iran and Russia and put it in a difficult situation because of the financial payments are facing problems.

Mamedova, who wrote dozens of practical and research papers about Iran, believes that while many think that sanctions will make Iran and Russia closer, she does not think so.

She continued, 'The economic relations between the two countries will only develop in new conditions, when the authorities of the two countries will do their best to eliminate the consequences of sanctions, otherwise the difficult situation in economic relations will arise.'

Chairman of the Iran Section in Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences said, 'I believe that Iran's President Hassan Rouhani, with the preservation of JCPOA, made America isolated in the world.'

Mamedova added that Iran's foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, has also worked hard to maintain this international agreement, which is worthwhile because Iran advocates an agreement endorsed by the United Nations Security Council and the United States has no word against it.
