JCPOA outstanding diplomatic achievement: Statement

Tehran, December 15, IRNA -The heads of Iranian and Irish friendship groups in a joint statement regarded the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as outstanding diplomatic achievement, saying they stressed the importance of its full implementation along with Iran and the European Union's stance.

The Iranian and Irish heads of the parliamentary friendship group confirmed Saturday in a joint statement following a visit of the Iranian parliamentary friendship group last week that 'we admit to the opportunities and capacities that exist for the development of cooperation between Iran and Ireland. These capacities and opportunities need to be achieved in different political, economic, commercial, scientific and cultural fields.'

'The current volume of annual trade exchange between Iran and Ireland is about 140 million Euros that does not fit the capabilities and capabilities of the two sides, the joint statement said. 'Support for further trade and economic cooperation requires strengthening cooperation between the two countries.'

'We have shared views on major international issues, such as the destruction of weapons of mass destruction, promoting multilateralism and opposing unilateralism and counter-terrorism,' the leaders of the parliamentary friendship group said in a joint statement, adding, 'Iran and Ireland have great importance to resolve the diplomatic and peaceful solution of regional and international crises.'

'Regarding the important benefits of periodic parliamentary meetings between Iran and Ireland, we encourage more interaction and visits by senior government officials in the two countries with a view to expanding cooperation on both bilateral and international levels,' their joint statement said.
