Pak media: Rouhani threatens to block all oil exports if Iran can’t export oil

Islamabad, Dec 5, IRNA - Pakistani media in their reports have given wide coverage to the remarks of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani that Iran could block oil exports passing through the Persian Gulf if the United States tries to prevent Iranian oil shipments.

Leading English daily ‘Dawn’ said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that 'if someday, the United States decides to block Iran's oil (exports), no oil will be exported from the Persian Gulf.'

Rouhani also pledged that the US wouldn't be able to prevent Iran from exporting its crude oil.

Daily ‘Express Tribune’ said that Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani struck a defiant stance against US sanctions, renewing his threat to cut off international oil sales from the Persian Gulf.

“America should know… it is not capable of preventing the export of Iran’s oil,” Rouhani said at a televised rally in Semnan Province.

“If it ever tries to do so… no oil will be exported from the Persian Gulf,” he added.

‘Radio Pakistan’ said Iran has threatened to block oil exports passing through the Persian Gulf if the United States tries to prevent Iranian crude oil shipments.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, in a televised speech , said that Iran will continue to sell its oil and the United States will not succeed in cutting Iran’s economic ties with the region and the world.

Daily ‘Business Recorder’ in its report said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made an apparent threat to disrupt other countries’ oil shipments through the Persian Gulf if Washington presses ahead with efforts to halt Iranian oil exports.

“America should know that we are selling our oil and will continue to sell our oil and they are not able to stop our oil exports,” Rouhani said in a televised speech during a trip to the northern Iranian city of Shahroud.
