Culture, art facilitating Iran-India cooperation

Tehran, Dec 3, IRNA - Iranian Minister of Culture met with head of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations with an emphasis on the importance and effect of language and literature in the development of relations between countries referring to culture, art and media as the bridge of communication and link between Tehran-New Delhi.

In a meeting with Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Seyyed Abbas Salehi also pointed to the history of ties between the two countries, adding that Iran and India have ancient ties and linking Persian and Sanskrit to the old roots of the two countries.

He pointed out the opportunities of joint cooperation between the two countries, “There are many fields for cultural exchanges, which language is considered one of the opportunities.”

'Iran and India can also cooperate in the fields of linguistics and literature and creative literary productions and universities and active complexes in both countries have a considerable opportunity for these connections, which should provide fields and openings for cultural and artistic relations,' the Iranian Minister of Culture continued.

Following the signing of the two countries' cultural exchanges, Salehi added, 'Cultural exchanges have made a good view of cultural and artistic cooperation, which cinema is considered one of these fields.”
