Iran, Georgia agree on scientific cooperation in cultural heritage

Tehran, Nov 27, IRNA- Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Iranian Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, and the Ilia State University of Georgia which includes the fields of tourism and the cultural heritage of the two countries.

'The MoU aims to develop and strengthen scientific and scholarly relations in the fields of cultural heritage and tourism as the common heritage of humanity,' Monir Kholqi the director of international and legal affairs of Iranian Research Institute added on Tuesday.

Pointing to the common destiny of nations and the importance of communication in the region, she considered the joint study of inter- cultural studies a step to strengthen the recognition of most nations in the current situation. 'The signing of the memo will be a joint point for developing this partnership,' Kholqi noted.

The Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism is considering in order to implement the concluded agreement starts the first round of cooperation in January, Kholqi added.

She referred to archaeology and interdisciplinary studies, conservation and restoration at archaeological sites and museums, tourism and related studies, scholarly history, architectural history and city construction, are included fields of cooperation in the agreement.
