Iran new envoy to India starts mission

New Delhi, Nov 15, IRNA – Iran's new ambassador to India started his mission in the Indian capital on Thursday.

Ali Chegini was proposed by the Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as the new ambassador to New Delhi and was appointed by President Hassan Rouhani.

He has previously served as Iran's ambassador to Cuba and the Director General of Iranian foreign ministry's Consular office.

Iran's former envoy to New Delhi, Gholamreza Ansari, was in February appointed as deputy foreign minister for economic affairs.
