Iran’s expectations more than contents of 4+1 statement

New York, Sept 27, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday hailed Tuesday statement of 4+1 ministers, saying that it is a good progress in preserving the JCPOA but Iran expects more than that.

“We have discussed our expectations with the parties and they have promised to help fulfill the expectations and pave the way for Iran to benefit from the JCPOA,” he said in a news conference with reporters in the UN.

Asked about today’s (Wednesday) meeting of the United Nations Security Council, he said that UNSC today’s session was due to discuss Iran but they changed the topic due to the opposition of the other members.

“During today’s session it was clear that the US is isolated. All supported the JCPOA and condemned the US move as wrong,” he said.

Rouhani further noted that he held meetings with officials of 17 countries with all of them hailing Iran’s stay in the JCPOA, as an intelligent and wise move.

The nuclear deal does not referred to something named missile and this was clear from the beginning, he said, noting that if somebody wants to violate its commitment, there is no need for making excuses.
