Afghan government slams Ahvaz terror attack

Kabul, Sept 23, IRNA – The Government of Afghanistan in a statement denounced the terrorist attack in southwestern city of Ahvaz.

Many Afghan people have so far fallen victim to terrorism, the statement read.

The security and defense forces are at the forefront of the fight against the sinister phenomenon of terrorism, it added.

The Afghanistan government believes that terrorism is a regional and international phenomenon which needs joint cooperation of all countries in fighting it.

Terrorism is the enemy of all humanity because it targets citizens around the world, the statement read.

It is time to come up with a public consensus against this phenomenon and to take an honest and serious stance against it.

At least 29 people, including women and children, were killed and more than 70 others injured during September 22 terror attack in Ahvaz which took place during a military parade held to mark the 38th anniversary of an eight-year imposed war against Iran.

The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.
