Austria calls for Iran-Europe digital transactions

Yazd, Aug 11, IRNA - Austrian Ambassador to Iran Stefan Scholz said on Saturday that all 28 members of the European Union vow to do business transactions with Iran through digital currency.

European Union spares no efforts to help Iran take advantage of the JCPO, he said in a meeting with a number of industrialists and businessmen in Yazd chamber of commerce on Saturday.

Since the Islamic Republic of Iran has been committed to its pledges and commitments with regards to sound implementation of the JCPOA and the reports issued by IAEO support such claim, the country should be able to defend its legal rights, he said.

US policies as well as rules on implementation of sanctions against Iran are not clear, he said, adding that the European Union is in a dark situation.

Financial transactions with Iran is a major hurdle at this juncture, he said, adding that the EU is looking for a way out of his problem and assume that digital currency might be a suitable alternation.

Austria with population of around 9 million and economic growth of 3.03 percent is located in the middle of central Europe and is a progressive state with several international organizations bureaus in Vienna.
