Trump discredits US by quitting nuclear deal: Iran minister

Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA - Iran's intelligence minister said on Tuesday that US President Donald Trump discredited the US by withdrawing from the nuclear deal.

By withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the US president broke a multilateral agreement and brought discredit fro the US at the international scene, Mahmoud Alavi said on Tuesday, addressing a local ceremony.

He referred to Trump's offer for direct talks with Iran, and said that even if he reaccepts the JCPOA, there is no guarantee for his remaining loyal to the deal.

Alavi said that the US will pay for its exit from the nuclear deal.

The Iranian nation has always given a crushing response to aggressors, he added in reaction to the US officials' threatening rhetoric.
