Austrian MP: EU needs to keep Iran deal

Tehran, July 21, IRNA – The European Union stresses the need to keep Iran nuclear deal, a senior Austrian Member of Parliament Andreas Schieder said on Saturday.

Schieder, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Austrian National Council, made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran with his Iranian counterpart Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh.

Tough times have to be turned into opportunities for creating new solutions to continue with relations and draw up new horizons, Schieder said.

The European Union and Austria make efforts to engage in talks to bear good result, he added.

He said that Iran is the source of stability in the most complicated and unstable region of the world.

The Iranian side, for his part, said that the package proposed by the European Union to ensure that Iran will benefit from economic benefits of the nuclear deal after the US unilateral withdrawal from the accord need to be offered in a way that contain practical measures.

Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh also called on the EU to offer guarantees to Iran.

He said that European companies continued cooperation with Iran will be among the factors indicating the EU commitment to Iran deal.

Referring to US bullying measures, he said that the life of extremism is nearing its end and the extremists are becoming more and more isolated.
