Zarif arrives in Tehran

Tehran, June 14, IRNA – Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad-Javad Zarif, who had traveled to South Africa, arrived in Tehran on Thursday.

Zarif arrived in Pretoria on Tuesday to hold talks with his South African counterpart and the country’s president Cyril Ramaphosa on Iran nuclear deal known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and boosting of mutual cooperation.

During the meetings, South African sides reiterated support for the JCPOA.

South Africa is the second largest economy in the African continent and following the implementation of the JCPOA it took big steps towards development of relations with Tehran.

Following visit of the South African president to Tehran in 2016, the two countries took measures for development of cooperation in the fields of transport, shipping, tourism and banking.
