Zarif wraps up S. Africa visit

Pretoria, June 13, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Pretoria for Tehran late on Wednesday after a two-day visit to South Africa.

Zarif arrived in Pretoria on Tuesday to hold talks with his South African counterpart and the country’s president on Iran nuclear deal known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and boosting of mutual cooperation.

During the meetings, South African sides reiterated support for the JCPOA.

South Africa is the second largest economy in the African continent and following implementation of the JCPOA it took big steps towards development of relations with Tehran.

Following visit of the South African president to Tehran in 2016, the two countries took measures for development of cooperation in the fields of transport, shipping, tourism and banking ties.
