Iran president's visit sign of Iran-China good ties

Beijing, June 3, IRNA – Former Chinese ambassador to Iran Hua Liming said on Sunday that the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the upcoming SCO Summit meeting in Shanghai is indicative of Iran-China good relations.

In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency, Liming said that the Iranian president's visit to China is a sign of China's significance for Iran and shows that China is a trustworthy friend for Iran.

Iran nuclear deal, signed in 2015 with the 5+1, is a globally recognized contract and will naturally be supported by SCO member-states, Liming said.

Although Iran is an observer member of the SCO, it has always been very active and has played a key role in strengthening the meetings, the ambassador added.

The Summit meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held in Shanghai on June 9-10 with participation of leaders from both member-states and observer members.
