Rouhani: Gov’t seeking constructive interaction with world

Tehran, May 26, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that his administration has always pursued constructive interaction with the world and economic stability in line with Islamic management system.

Addressing a gathering of Ulama and clerics on Saturday, he added that in today’s world running a country is impossible without interaction with the global community.

Living in modern world is difficult and impossible without communications, Rouhani pointed out, saying that of course it is not correct to surrender to the powers and do what they say.

Highlighting his administration’s achievement in improving people's living standard, Rouhani said that the government has also taken good steps towards safeguarding national assets. For example Iran’s gas production from the joint gas field with Qatar was half or even less than the amount the Arab kingdom used to extract but today, Iran’s gas production has surged to higher levels.

“In the field of foreign relations, we also tried to safeguard the Iranian nation’s achievements and rights,” he said, noting that the government has also taken effective steps in this regard, for instance removal of six UN Security Council resolutions against Iran.

Rouhani further pointed out that his administration also managed to close the complicated case of PMD which some believed that it was impossible to close it for decades.

The government also managed to end the tyrannical sanctions thanks to the nuclear deal with world powers officially known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he said.

On May 8, Trump pulled out the US from the JCPOA, which drew fierce criticism from the other parties to the deal and international community.
