Mahmoud Farazandeh, also Director General for East Asia and Oceania in Iran's Foreign Ministry, met with the North Korean official in Pyongyang.
In the meeting the two sides discussed bilateral issues, developments in East Asia and the Korean peninsula.
Farazandeh is visiting Pyongyang upon an official invitation from North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
