Envoy: Tehran-Belgrade charter flights to be launched soon

Tehran, May 3, IRNA – Serbia's envoy to Iran said that charter flights between Tehran and Belgrade will be launched in the near future.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on the sidelines of the 31st Tehran International Book Fair, Dragan Todorovic said that, currently, there are two flights between Tehran and Belgrade every week .

Referring to a recent visit by Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif to Serbia, he said that the next step in boosting bilateral cooperation between the two countries will be strengthening economic ties.

A joint Iran-Serbia cooperation commission will be held in June with the presence of 15 working groups, as well as Serbia's tourism minister and Iran's minister of industry, mines and trade, he said.

The Serbian diplomat also described the bilateral relations as unprecedented in the last decade and said that no-visa visits by Iranians to Serbia are among the achievements gained as the results of boosting cooperation.

Serbia is the guest country and Tunis (the capital city of Tunisia) is the guest city in Tehran International Book Fair that was opened on May 2. A number of publishers from Germany, China, Italy, Oman, Hungary, Austria, Russia and Iraq are also presenting their books in the fair.
