Khaledi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that five of the injured are to be received in the operation room of a local hospital and 37 others are hospitalized in the emergency ward.
An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale rocked Sisakht in southwestern Province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad on Wednesday.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 8:38 hours local time (4:08 GMT) in an area located at the depth of 8 km underground.
Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes. Also on Sunday, a 5.3-Richter quake rattled the area, as result of which 54 people were injured.
