Iran, Turkmenistan review bilateral ties

Baku, April 17, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Raşit Meredow discussed bilateral relations.

Following up the agreements signed by the two countries during President Hassan Rouhani’s trip to Turkmenistan and regional issues were among other topics discussed during the meeting.

Zarif had earlier met with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon.

During the meeting both sides discussed bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues.

They also underlined developing cooperation in political, economic, cultural, energy and technology fields.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif heading a delegation is in Tajikistan to attend a ministerial meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are members of ECO.
