Egypt supports Syrian Army, Gov’t

Algiers, April 16, IRNA – Supporting Syrian legitimate government, its national army and the citizenship rights of Syrians are Egypt’s stable principles, Egyptian presidential spokesman said.

The recent developments in Syria made Egypt concerned, Bassam Rady said in a televised interview.

Egypt does not support militia in Syria and is against its disintegration, he said.

Commenting on the recent tripartite aggression on Syria, he said, 'We were not informed of the attack.'

Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry earlier said that Cairo is after preserving the interests of Syrians and also finding a political solution.

The recent attack on Syria brought no results and such strikes just cause complexity in the crisis, develop terrorism and blow a deal to the legitimate government of Syria, Shoukry said, adding that Egypt has always been after maintaining integration of Syria and is against military solutions.

Elaborating on the allegations as regard chemical attack in Douma, he said, 'We have no information in this regard.'

The US together with its allies, the UK and France targeted the Syrian capital city of Damascus early Saturday.

The US attack on a military base in Homs, western Syria, injured 3 civilians, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) had earlier reported.
