2 antiques seized in NE Iran

Mashad, March 19, IRNA – Two ancient items dating back to the first century BC were restored from a woman smuggler in Neishabour, northeastern Iran, a local official said on Monday.

'A woman who was trying to sell two antique items was arrested last night,' said the commander of the security unit of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Razavi Province Colonel Majid Kiani.

The antiques were pottery items belonging to the first century BC.

The illegal dealer was delivered to the judicial authorities, he said.
