Japan to grant multi-million aid to finance 4 projects in Iran

Tehran, Feb 14, IRNA – Government of Japan decided to multi-million support to four projects in the environment and humanitarian areas in Iran from the place of its supplementary budget in 2017 fiscal year.

According to the report of Japan embassy in Tehran, one million dollars is granted within the framework of the UNDP to revive Orumiyeh Lake through participation of local societies and by implementation of sustainable agriculture and protection of biodiversity.

An aggregate amount of $1.3 million has been allocated within the framework of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as humanitarian aid and support for Afghan refugees in Iran.

Also $500,000 has been allocated through the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in order to confront money-laundering and fight against financial supports for terrorism and Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Within the framework of the UN-Habitat program, a total amount of $700,000 will be allocated for the evaluation of the existing equipment for reaction against earthquake and execution of work in facing multilateral dangers.
