Iran emerging as a strong regional power: Pakistan provincial speaker

Islamabad, Feb 14, IRNA - Speaker of Pakistan’s Provincial Assembly while congratulating Iran on the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution said that Iran has emerged as a strong power in the region because of its strong Islamic system.

Asad Qaiser, Speaker of North Western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was speaking at a ceremony to observe the 39th anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution and National Day of Iran at Peshawar Consulate of Iran embassy.

The ceremony was attended by the Iranian Consul General Muhammad Baqir Beigi, provincial ministers, representatives of chambers of commerce and industry, religious leaders and university professors.

Asad Qaiser expressing his views said that Iran through strong political will is progressing well at the economic front despite many challenges and economic sanctions.

He further added that the Islamic Revolution of Iran is a role model for the entire world and urged the Muslim rulers to follow the path shown by Imam Khomeini to achieve success.

The Speaker said that according to global experts, the current economic situation of Iran is strong and because of this Iran is emerging as a strong force in the region.

He added people of Iran and Pakistan are tied into deep bond of friendship which will grow further in times to come.

“We want to utilize Iranian experience in the fields of agriculture, energy production and mining in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Asad Qaiser said.

Meanwhile, Iranian Consul General Muhammad Baqir Beigi said it is a great achievement that the Islamic Revolution is entering into its 40th year. He added that people of Iran have always stood behind the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

He stressed upon the need for enhancing cooperation among the regional states to counter the menace of terrorism, adding that Iran has already taken practical steps in this regards.

The diplomat called for further expansion of ties between Iran and Pakistan.
