Iran considered Russia, Austria study plans for two oil fields

Tehran, Feb 13, IRNA – National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) considered results of studies of Austrian 'OMV' Company in ' Piedar Gharb Oil Field' and Russian Petroleum Company 'Zarubezhneft ' in Piedar Gharb and 'Aban ' oilfields in Iran.

Following implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in January 2016, negotiations with foreign companies to develop oilfields followed up seriously and caused signature of around 30 memoranda of understanding to study oil and gas fields.

So far, a number of companies have presented their technical offers and programs.

NIOC announced on Tuesday that at the 148th meeting of advisors committee surveys of two Russian and Austrian companies were considered.

Aban and Piedar Gharb oilfields are among fields jointly shared by Iran and Iraq.

An official from the NIOC announced on Tuesday that 36 MoUs were signed by foreign and domestic companies and 45 proposals have been received so far.

A number of companies, which signed MoU with the NIOC were Russia Lukoil, Indonesia PERTAMINA, Denmark Maersk, Austria OMV, Russia Gazprom, German Wintershall, France Total, Royal Dutch-British Shell and Italian Eni.
