9th meeting of TTCC of ECO kicks off in Islamabad with Iran’s participation

Islamabad, Feb 13, IRNA -- 9th meeting of the Road Committee of Transit Transport Coordination Council (TTCC) of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member-states, including Iran, kicked off in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The three-day meeting will review progress on the implementation of the ECO-approved programs/projects and consider proposals for new agreements.

Iranian delegation comprised of Head of International Agreements Sector of Iran’s Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, Homayoun Karimi, Director General of Transportation and Road Management of Sistan-Baluchistan, Ali Khanghaei and Head of monitoring section of Iran’s Transit Custom Authority Ali Reza Sadri-Khah Changiz Khanari.

Representative from world road transport organization (IRU) also participated in the conference.

The conference will discuss transit transport issues along with visa issues to the drivers with an objective to enhance transit trade among the ECO states.

ECO which is an inter-governmental organization was established in 1985 and has ten member-states, including Iran, Azerbaijan Republic, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
