Iran trade delegation heads for Iraq

Bushehr, Feb 13, IRNA – A trade and marketing delegation from left Bushehr Province for Iraq on Tuesday, Head of Bushehr industry, mine and trade office Hossein Hosseini Mohammadi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The trip will be an opportunity for Iran to gain access to Iraq market, Mohammadi said.

Holding talks with Iran ambassador and the commercial attaché of Iran to Baghdad and consular general in Basra, participating in Iran exhibition in Baghdad and visiting members of chambers of commerce in Baghdad, Basra, Umm Qasr and Al-Faw are among Iranian delegation itinerary, he added.

As the second largest oil reserves in the world, Iraq with nearly $100 billion annual imports, is a potential market for our country, he noted.

The long border between Iran and Iraq, and the proximity of Iran to major Iraqi cities, is an important factor in reducing the cost of exports to this country, Mohammadi said.

The exported goods comprised of clinker, cement, aquaculture products, chicken and agricultural products like tomato, watermelon and melon, he reiterated.
