Iran rescues 5 foreigners from kidnappers' custody

Zahedan, Jan 13, IRNA – Police Commander of Sistan and Balouchestan province Brigadier General Mohammad Qanbari said on Saturday that five foreign citizens were rescued from the custody of the kidnappers in less than 13 hours in Iranshahr city.

He explained operation and said that police received information concerning abduction of five foreign citizens by unknown abductors in Iranshahr city, south of province, and immediately started its operation.

Following intelligence and technical moves, identity and hidding place of three abductors were unveiled.

'The kidnappers were arrested in lesss than 13 hours and five foreign citizens were also released,' Brigadier General Qanbari said.

He said that the abductors' motive was to blackmail the abductees.
