EU underlines full implementation of Iran Deal

Vienna, Jan 13, IRNA – The European Union in a statement emphasized full implementation of Iran nuclear accord officially known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“As a first step, we will coordinate with the E3 and the other EU Member States to jointly assess the statement and its implications,” the statement reads.

“We remain committed to the continued full and effective implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action,” EU reiterated taking note of US President Donald Trump’s recent statement on Iran deal.

This is while the EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini in a separate statement on Thursday said, “The nuclear agreement is a multilateral agreement endorsed by the UN Security Council with a Resolution. It is a key element of the nuclear non-proliferation global architecture and it is crucial for the security of the region, but also for the security of Europe.”

“The European Union has had and expressed a very clear position on the nuclear deal, as it was stated by the 28 European Union Member States' Ministers, already in October last year, and repeated again today,” she added.

The foreign ministers of Iran, France, Germany and UK and EU foreign policy chief met in Brussels on Jan 11. They expressed their support for the deal and emphasized it should be preserved.
