Iran grand master wins Mumbai Chess Tournament

Tehran, Jan 8, IRNA – Iran’s youngest grand master Parham Maghsudlou won the 3rd IIFL Wealth Mumbai International Chess Tournament held in India.

The 3rd IIFL Wealth Mumbai International Chess Tournament was held with the attendance of 315 players from 23 countries on Dec 30-Jan 7.

Maghsudlou, having FIDE rating 2,572, represented Iran in the tournament.

Parham Maghsoodloo is an Iranian chess grandmaster. He was Iranian Chess Champion in 2017.

Born in 2000, Maghsoodloo was awarded the title of grandmaster by FIDE in 2016, the same year he was awarded the title of International Master. He played in the Chess World Cup 2015, where he was defeated in the first round by Wesley So, and represented his nation at the 42nd Chess Olympiad in 2016. He won the Iranian Chess Championship in 2017.
