SKorea medical centers ready to share expertise with Iran

Seoul, Dec 16, IRNA – Hospitals in Iran should utilize successful experiences of the South Korean medical centers as the country is ready to share expertise in the field of medicine and healthcare with the Islamic Republic, Iranian Health Minister Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi said.

“There are 11.5 hospital beds per 1,000 people in South Korea while the number stands at 1.5 in Iran,” Hashemi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in Seoul on Saturday.

There are good grounds for the public and private sectors in Iran to use South Korea experiences especially in the fields of the healthcare information technology, electronic health projects and construction of hospitals, he said.

The Iranian health minister also called on the Iranian public and private sectors to try to attract investments and make the best use of the South Korean expertise and money.

Hashemi is visiting Seoul on the invitation of his South Korean counterpart.

During his three-day stay in the East Asian country, he is expected to take part in a conference on promoting medical and healthcare cooperation, pay a visit to a hospital, attend a
