Official hails good ties among Caspian Sea states

Tehran, Dec 12, IRNA – Iranian deputy foreign minister on Tuesday lauded good ties among the littoral states of the Caspian Sea.

'We have good status in this region in all aspects and we have good relations with countries (in the region),' Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ibrahim Rahimpour said on the sidelines of a conference on fighting terrorism.

Iran has not already taken any decision regarding the mineral resources of Caspian Sea's seabed and deep seabed, he added.

The official said that defining the boundaries will not be discussed in the Caspian Sea summit expected to be held in the Kazakh capital, Astana.

He said in the meantime, that several agreements are going to be signed in the Astana summit.

Commenting on Iranian president's Participation in the emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the official welcomed the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's initiation for holding the meeting in reaction to the US decision for recognizing al-Quds (Jerusalem) as capital of Israel.
