Number of injured in north Iran quake rises to 30

Rasht, Dec 6, IRNA – The latest number of the injured in the earthquake that rocked the northern Iran was declared as 30 on Wednesday.

Disaster Management and Emergency Medical Services of Gilan Province Peyman Asadi told IRNA that the injured were treated in hospitals.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 18:17 hours local time (14:47 GMT) on Tuesday at longitude of 50.14 and latitude of 37.26 and in the depth of 23 kilometers.

Gilan province is one of the areas in Iran prone to earthquakes with most of its cities located on fault lines.
