British physician converts to Islam

Mashad, Dec 6, IRNA – A young British physician converted to Islam on the eve of Prophet Mohammad's (pbuh) birthday anniversary in Iran's north eastern city, Mashad, a local official said on Wednesday.

Jalal Hosseini, a deputy of Astan Quds Razavi organization that manages affairs of the Imam Reza (pbuh) holy shrine, told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the British newly convert Muslim, who wanted to remain anonymous, converted to Islam and chose to be called Ali.

The statistics provided by the organization shows that nine people, comprising four men and five women, have converted to Islam since the beginning of this (Persian) year.
