Mauritanian president condoles with Iranian counterpart over deadly earthquake

Algiers, Nov 14, IRNA – Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz sent a message on Tuesday to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani condoling him on the deadly earthquake in western Iran.

In his message, the Mauritanian president wished speedy recovery for those injured and prayed for the departed ones to rest in peace.

The 7.3-magnitude earthquake rocked west of Iran and areas in eastern Iraq on Sunday night killing hundreds of people, leaving thousands others injured.

The quake, with its epicenter at a depth of 11 km, occurred at 21:48 local time (18:18 GMT) on Sunday (November 12).

The latest statistics released by official sources put the death toll of the deadly quake in western Iran at 432, with 7817 others injured.
