Iran welcomes cultural exchanges with Sweden

Tehran, Nov 14, IRNA – Head of Parliamentary Women's Fraction Parvaneh Salahshouri says Iran welcomes cultural exchanges and stronger ties with Sweden.

Salahshouri made the remarks in a meeting with an official at the International Relations Department of Sweden's Cultural Organization E. Angstrom.

She hoped for more dialogue between the Iranian and Swedish parliamentarians, urging upgrading parliamentary relations.

Salahshouri referred to active the role of Iranian women in the social, political, cultural and economic developments and said the strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is empowerment of women and ensuring their strong presence in various scenes and to this end, Iranian parliament will use all the legal instruments availabe to it.

She said that the Iranian parliament strives for more economic contribution by women to the society.

'Iranian women have a decisive share in Iranian community's political affairs. They can play an effective role in various levels in Iranian civil and political institutions,' Salahshouri noted.
