Lavrov: JCPOA subject to mandatory implementation

Tehran, Oct 13, IRNA - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Iran's nuclear deal has been “approved by the UN Security Council resolution” and is “subject to mandatory implementation.”

He also criticized the US stance on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Interfax reported.

Speaking in a joint press conference with his counterpart from Burundi Alain Aimé Nyamitwe in Moscow on Friday, Lavrov said that he did not know “what will be announced by the Americans,” but “given the status of the agreement, it is difficult to imagine how it is possible legally withdraw from it.”

In related news, Lavrov also told in a telephone conversation with his American counterpart Rex Tillerson that Tehran has implemented all its commitments on Iran nuclear deal.

Lavrov said that all co-authors of the document must abide by it.
