Iran attends 22nd UNWTO General Assembly in China

Beijing, Sep 13, IRNA – Top Iranian tourism official partook in the 22nd United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly which started work in Chengdu, a city in south west of China, on Wednesday.

Head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicraft and Tourism Organization Ali-Asghar Mounesan represented Iran in the biannual event which is the most important of its kind.

Iran's Mounesan is to address the four-day international event about the ways of developing tourism industry.

Mounesan is to elaborate on how tourism can serve sustainable development.

Meeting with tourism officials in China and attending a ceremony of planting saplings are among the plans Mounesan has during his visit to China.

Meeting with participation of Caspian Sea littoral states, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, Mounesan is the last leg of Mounesan trip to China.
