Daesh booby-traps houses, cars: Iraqi comdr

Erbil, Sep 13, IRNA – A senior commander of the Iraqi Popular Army, AKA the People's Army or Al Jaysh ash-Shaabi, warned of booby-trapped houses and already-destroyed cars on all the way from Kirkuk city to Hawija, 55 km south of Kirkuk.

Sheikh Nayef Marzooq told IRNA, 'Daesh has been collecting abandoned cars from around Hawija and booby-trap them in villages in the suburbs.'

Marzooq added that Daesh does that to slow down the advancement of the Iraqi forces and shield humans to soar the casualties of the liberation operation.

They have massacred people in a village and intend to booby-trap the village so as to prevent the people from finding the mass graves.

Hawija has been under Daesh control from 2014.
