Persepolis fans go to streets to show joy after team's victory

Tehran, Sep 13, IRNA – Fans of the Iranian soccer team Persepolis in Tehran and other cities gathered together in the streets on Tuesday night to express happiness after their team's victory over Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli.

On Tuesday night, Iran's Persepolis beat Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli 3-1 (5-3 on aggregate) at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium, UAE, in the Asian Champianships quarter-final second leg.

Persepolis had to go on with the match with 10 men after midfielder Kamal Kamyabinia received a straight red card due to a challenge on Waleed Bakshwan in the 12th minute.

Persepolis will face Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in semi-finals.

The Iranian soccer federation congratulated Persepolis FC in a message on Wednesday morning for entering the 2017 AFC Champions League semi-finals.

The Iranian Federation also wished the team and its fans more success in the future games.
