Tehran, June 19, IRNA – The missile attack against terrorists’ positions in Syria was a firm, duly response to their recent moves in Tehran and was carried out with prior notice to the Syrian government, the Foregin Ministry spokesman said Monday.

'Iran would not tolerate the least destabilizing action endangering its national security, rather it will give them firm, duly and smart responses,' added Bahram Qasemi in the weekly press conference referring to the missile attack against Daesh (the terrorist ISIS group) in Syria.

Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced Sunday night that in a retaliation for the recent terror attacks in Tehran, that claimed the lives of 18, has targeted Daesh stronghold in Eastern Syrian Deir ez-Zor Province.

“Last night’s missile attack against the terrorists and their bastions was in line with the policy of protecting the Iranian citizens’ security, which was done relying on national defense infrastructure and the faithful military forces,” he said.

Noting that Islamic Republic of Iran has always warned against terrorism and its expansion in the region and world, the official emphasized that Iran’s policies were based on cooperation with regional countries and the international community for uprooting terrorism and extremism in the region and world, so the country would respond firmly to any invasion or threat using its own military capabilities.
