Ukraine: Tehran terrorist attacks reveal perpetrators’ insolence

Moscow, June 9, IRNA – Ukrainian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Thursday condemned June 7 terror attacks in Tehran, noting that the two targets selected by the terrorists indicated insolence of those behind the crimes.

As a member of the UN Security Council, Ukraine condemns Tehran terrorist attacks and stresses the need for joining up efforts by the global community in the fight against terrorism to uproot the evil phenomenon which is a threat against the entire world.

“We urge decisive measures to prevent and help cut financial supports to terrorists who are following extremist ideology, violence and terror and highlight the need for implementation of all the international mechanisms as well as honoring commitments by member states based on the resolutions of the UN Security Council,” said the statement.

Ukraine Foreign Ministry also expressed condolences to the Iranian nation and government over the deadly attack and wished swift recovery for the injured.

Terrorists attacked mausoleum of the late Imam Khomenini, southern Tehran, and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Wednesday morning in two coordinated attacks killing 17 people and injuring 52 others.

Two of the attackers blew themselves up respectively outside Imam Khomeini’s shrine and in the Iranian Parliament.

The terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the fatal attacks.
