Interior Ministry confirms end of terrorist attacks in Tehran

Tehran, June 7, IRNA -- Interior Ministry on Wednesday issued a statement to declare that the two terrorist attacks in Tehran have been ended and security forces have full control over current developments.

The statement also advised the country's mass media to avoid issuance of unofficial reports.

Following the two terrorist attacks in Tehran, the interior ministry is to shed light on all aspects of the attack in order to brighten the minds of people as follows:

Presently the two attacks have been ended and security forces have full control over the current developments and people will be updated accordingly, it said.

To closely examine the incident, the Supreme National Security Council will be formed under chairmanship of interior minister, it said.

To avoid broadcast of unreal news, it is incumbent that all media to adopt an accountable approach in order to prevent dissemination of unofficial news, it said.

In an apparently coordinated attempt, two terrorist groups attacked mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini, southern Tehran, and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Wednesday morning, killing 12 people and injuring 42 more.

One of the terrorist was gunned down by the security forces and another attacker, reportedly a woman, blew herself up outside the Imam Khomeini shrine.

The terrorist group of Daesh (the ISIS terrorist group) has claimed responsibility for the fatal attacks in Tehran.

Terrorists entered the Parliament building while they had dressed as women, said a security official.

Parliament operation ended by security forces who killed three of the terrorists, one of them had detonated himself before.

Meanwhile, according to an official at the Intelligence Ministry, several terrorist cells have entered Tehran to carry out terrorist operations but members of one of the cells have been arrested.
