Envoy: Iran to broaden economic relations with Oman

Tehran, May 17, IRNA -- Iran's Ambassador to Muscat Hojjatoleslam Nouri Shahroudi on Wednesday called for the expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Oman.

Speaking to the 30-member Iranian economic delegations who are now touring Oman, he said the two sides should take advantage of the existing potentials to broaden economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Iranian economic delegation comprising industrialists from different sectors such as food industry, dried fruits, fresh fruits and vegetables.

Given ample of cultural and religious commonalties, he said consumption of foodstuff and shipment of goods to Oman exceeds $3 billion, but share of Iran is very minor and about one percent.

He advised the Iranian companies to export high quality products to Oman and the Iranian embassy in the country will spare no efforts to support them.

The Iranian economic delegation will meet the country's economic officials during its stay in Oman.
